Lendo o archive da Debian-boot achei a solução, pelo menos testei aqui
e funcionou.

I just installed a similar system using the current weekly amd64 KDE disk.
Your system may require these options at the boot: prompt. Please check for
proper spelling and note the changes.

    boot: install generic.all_generic_ide=1 irqpoll


É possível usar qualquer parâmetro.. install, installgui, expert,
expertgui.. a minha tentativa foi com a expert, e funcionou beleza.

Agora resta saber se essa é realmente a melhor opção a utilizar, por
conta de ter os discos SATA II reconhecidos como generic IDE.
